What are functions?

Within your online academy, you can classify the organisation at organisation structure. This allows you to register employees at the right company and the right department. You can also add functions to your online academy to create further stratification.

These are the important functionalities of functions:

  • Create functions and assign them to users

Like companies and departments, you can also create functions at Organisational Structure. When creating a user, you can assign one or multiple functions to that user.

  • Automatically enrolling users with a specific function to activities

You can also link learning activities and Learning Playlists to a function. This ensures that all users with this function are automatically enrolled in these specific learning activities. In addition, you can add qualifications to functions to ensure the users can obtain the appropriate certifications.

With functions, you can specify the functions or roles within the organisation, and the requirements for individuals within a function. Examples of functions are a mortgage advisor or service staff.

You can create and assign the functions (or roles) that exist within the organisation to users. In addition, functions allow you to easily define required learning activities or qualifications per function, which will be automatically assigned to the appropriate users.

How do I create a function and assign it to users?

Creating Functions

At organisational structure under the tab ‘Functions’, you can create functions. To do this, you click on the '+' icon in the top right corner. Per function, you enter a function title.

Assign

Once a function is created, you will see the ‘Assign’ tab when you have opened a function. To open an existing function, click on the pencil icon in the function overview. On the ‘Assign’ tab, you can assign learning activities to a function. All users with that function will then be enrolled in the linked learning activity(ies).

Assigning functions to users

You can then assign functions to users. This way, you can see who has what function. You can also obtain an overview of this information in an export file. You can add a function to a user, by going to the user's detail page. You can access this detail page by clicking on the pencil icon next to a user, in the user overview. Function assignments can also be done when bulk importing users. This can be done in the bulk adding new users as well as in the bulk updating of existing users.
