To test whether the user has understood the previously read or viewed information, you can add questions to your learning activities. You can choose from several types of questions and, optionally, provide immediate feedback. In this article, you will read how to add questions, and which types of questions you can choose from.

How do I add a question?

  • Choose the learning format ‘Question’.

  • Select the type of question you want to add. Below, you can read about the several types of questions.

  • Add the question and optionally a description. Based on the question, the question will be saved in the Warehouse.

  • Add answer options and optionally feedback. Also select which answers are correct. When you add feedback, it will appear once an answer is given. The same feedback will appear regardless of whether the question is answered correctly or incorrectly.

  • Add learning objectives and tags. For questions, learning objectives are recommended. Learning objectives are useful for creating exams based on learning objectives. Additionally, you can add tags. Using tags or learning objectives, you can easily find your learning format (question in this case) in the Warehouse.

  • Add a category and difficulty level. For single-choice, multiple-choice, range, and combination questions, you can set a category and a difficulty level for the question. Under category, you can choose between knowledge and competence. In the test settings, you can then indicate the weight of each category.

Which types of questions can I add?

You can choose from several types of questions. Below is a brief description of each type.

  • Single choice question. There are multiple answer options, of which only one is correct. You can indicate the correct answer by clicking on the dot next to it. The dot will turn blue.

  • Multiple Choice question. There are multiple answer options, of which multiple answers can be correct. You can indicate the correct answers by clicking on the square next to them. The square will turn blue.

  • Range question. The answer to the question is a number. You can enter the correct answer in the box under ‘Answer’. Additionally, you can specify an allowed deviation from the correct answer under ‘Allowed Deviation’, by entering values on the left and the right side.

  • Combination question. Combine answers that belong together. You place the fixed answer in the left column. In the right column, you match the answer with the corresponding word. When a user opens the learning activity, the answers in the right column will be randomly arranged. Users need to match answers in the right column with the corresponding words in the left column.

  • Image question. You can use images as answer options, of which one is correct. Choose an image from your computer, or search for images via Unsplash. Use the appropriate image format, so that users can clearly see the image. You can indicate the correct answer by clicking on the dot under the image. The dot will turn blue.

  • Video Single Choice question. You can ask a single-choice question for a video, where one answer is correct. You can indicate the correct answer by clicking on the dot next to it. The dot will turn blue.

  • Video Multiple Choice question. You can ask a multiple-choice question for a video, where multiple answers can be correct. You can indicate the correct answers by clicking on the square next to them. The square will turn blue.

💡 The answer options of a question will automatically be randomized.
